The Kwara State government has warned that headmasters and principals who collect fees from candidates or parents for the common entrance examination scheduled to hold on August 19, 2023, will be sanctioned.

The warning was issued on Sunday in a statement in Ilorin by the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

The statement informed the general public that the placement examination (common entrance) into Junior Secondary Schools across the 16 local government areas of the state is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 19, 2023, beginning at 8 am prompt.

“This examination is free of charge as it is fully paid for by the Kwara State Government. The Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development cautions headteachers and principals against collecting any money from pupils or their parents.

“Any head teacher or principal caught in such an unlawful act will be sanctioned accordingly,” the ministry warned.

Pupils are also advised to prepare for the examination, as no form of malpractice will be tolerated.
